Psychologist C. R. Snyder at the University of Kansas conducts a research.  He asks the students a question.

- You entered the exam and received a lower mark than you expected. What would you do?

The answers are completely dependent on the hope factor. The response of hopeful students was to work harder and to think about what they would do in order to increase their final mark.

Students who were moderate hopeful thought about various ways of increasing their marks, but they showed less determination to accomplish this.

And, the less hopeful students gave up being demoralized.

Professor Snyder's statement is as follows:

The students who are hopeful know how to reach higher goals by setting a target and working harder. The only factor that distinguishes students with equal mental abilities in terms of academic achievement is their hopes.

Yes, hope is a consolation against troubles, and it is something more than an overly optimistic opinion which believes that everything will go its way sooner or later.

Hope is the belief that you have the will and method to reach the goals no matter what they are.

Hopelessness, which is the opposite of hope, is “obstacles to all perfection” with the words of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi. It's an emotion used by Satan, as well.

In a country where so many hopes are broken, to be hopeful is still not something that everyone can do. Hope is not to refer a work or to show laxity, either. There is an active patience and solution-oriented thought in hope. Hope cannot be like an ostrich and incapable of evaluating events, and sense of foolish natured. On behalf of optimism (!), those who play the Pollyanna, those who cannot see the course of events, those who try to justify people who ridicule our minds with different kinds of glosses, remitter mentality are not hopeful people. They are at most lazy people lacked in reasoning.

Hope is the feeling of those who can see the ultimate truth, read the beauty in the truth even if it is physically ugly, never lose his/her enthusiasm, motivate themselves, serve instead of who do not, high spirited, merciful, conscientious, perceptive and abstinent.

Hopeful people can learn from the life and never pretext anything. And they will make the world beauty indeed.

Today the only thing they talk about is wickedness, they do it by poking us. They want us to perceive the world as only evil. They tell the tyranny and rapes of the vile creatures looking like human by using a west style description. They tell the creatures who are cold blooded, stolid, living in luxury and ruthless. It must be a psychological war. It's just a trick to end the life energy and the enthusiasm and the power of people who want to make the world more liveable. Because the one who lost hope, loses everything.

Those whom hopes are alive, have the power to change the world.

Despite all these, forever hope, forever mercy!
