Historical artifacts returned by France were displayed at a “summer festival” held in Damascus, the capital of Syria. The Syrian historical artifacts, which had been smuggled out of the country approximately 15 years ago, were returned to Syria in conjunction with French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Damascus.

As part of the festival, funerary sculptures from Palmyra, inscribed reliefs and various Roman-era artifacts were displayed in the Throne Hall of the Citadel of Damascus.
